New network speed record. Is the internet fast? You bet it is. Faster than the dial-up I grew up on. Can it be faster? Always! Engadget has an article about how Siemens has broken the record for network speed maxing out at 107 gigabits per second before it petered out. That’s equivalent to a little more than 13 giga bytes per second. That’s the equivalent of being able to download a full DVD in a little less than a second. You could download every season of the Soprano’s on DVD in under 30 seconds at those speeds. Craziness…
